Michael Brazzel Ph.D., CPCC, PCC is The Leadership and Diversity Coach™. He is an executive coach, diversity and organization development consultant, and author. He has a background as executive and manager in U.S. government agencies; economist; evaluation and policy analysis; and university professor-researcher.
Dr. Brazzel’s clients are individuals and organizations.
- Individual clients are executives and leaders committed to learning, changing, and growing, being one’s very best self, and having lives which are fully-alive, rich, and fulfilling. His coaching practice with them addresses their whole lives and includes enhancing leadership skills and presence; being diversity and inclusion leaders; having a career path of heart and passion; balancing family/work/life; overcoming life hurdles like procrastination, fear, anger, depression, abuse, and addiction; and pursuing and addressing other hopes, dreams, and conditions of being human.
- Organization clients include business, government, education, and health-care organizations and unions, professional associations, foundations, and non-profit organizations….and his practice with them includes: whole-being coaching, leadership development, diversity and inclusion, strategic organizational change, team development, strategic planning, conflict mediation, mission, vision, values work, organization assessment and design, experiential education, facilitating groups, retreats and conferences, and professional development of diversity and organization development practitioners.
He was co-founder and faculty member of the NTL Institute’s Diversity Leadership Certificate Program. He has held teaching and/or research positions with the American University, Cleveland State University, Harvard-MIT Joint Center for Urban Studies, Newton College, University of North Carolina, University of Missouri, and U.S. Air Force Academy.
Dr. Brazzel was a Charter member of the U.S. Senior Executive Service. His federal government service includes the Economic Development Administration, Office of Economic Opportunity, Census Bureau, Federal Energy Administration, Department of Energy, and U. S. Department of Agriculture. He organized and managed 5 interdisciplinary, PhD-level organizations in different U.S. government agencies and departments. He was Staff Member/Team Leader with the Reinventing Government Program in the Office of U.S. Vice President Al Gore and was National Program Leader for Organization Development for the Nationwide Cooperative Extension System.
Dr. Brazzel is a member of the Editorial Board of the OD Practitioner and is co-editor of The NTL Handbook of Organization Development and Change: Principles, Practices, and Perspectives (2006) and the NTL Reading Book for Human Relations Training (8th edition, 1999) and author of more than 40 articles, reports, and papers.
